Family and friends of Ange Roscoe, from Barnard Castle, gather for the unveiling of her memorial bench.
A MEMORIAL bench in tribute to a former golf student who died last year has been unveiled to mark the anniversary of her death.
Family and friends of Ange Roscoe, from Barnard Castle, who died suddenly on October 16, last year, gathered at her former college, in Lancashire, to remember Miss Roscoe yesterday (Monday).
The popular 26-year-old gained an honours degree in Golf Management at Myerscough College, in Preston, between 2006 and 2009, where the memorial bench has been installed on the fourth tee of the establishment’s golf course.
Among those attending the ceremony were her parents Pam and John Roscoe and her boyfriend, Mark Harris.
Mr Roscoe, said the family and Miss Roscoe’s friends were deeply moved by the gesture and in particular thanked her friend Katie Holden, Bernard Pendleton and the rest of the college staff for their hard work.
Speaking during yesterday's ceremony, he said: "I’d like to thank everyone for making it happen. Ange would have loved this and would have been proud of what’s been done.
"She really enjoyed her time at Myerscough College. Her love of golf and the friendships she made while here got her through and helped her achieve her degree.
"Friends were very special to her and the fact that so many people helped with the bench reinforces how special those friendships were.
"My wife Pam, along with Mark and all her friends are very grateful. It means an awful lot. You’ve all done her proud.”
