Improvement work to start at Flatts Wood, Barnard Castle
WORK to improve woodland footpaths is set to begin this month.
The Heart of Teesdale Landscape Partnership is starting improvement work on the pathways through Flatts Wood, in Barnard Castle, in the next few weeks, with the consent of Marwood Estate and funding through Natural England’s Paths for Communities scheme.
The work is part of the Heart of Teesdale’s Flatts Wood and Tees Bank programme, which aims to restore and enhance the walks and banks leading from the Scar Top area, in Barnard Castle.
Minor improvement works are starting on the footpaths running adjacent to Percy Beck during the week commencing Monday, October 21, and will continue over the next few weeks.
All paths will remain open for the duration of the work, but pedestrians are being advised to take extra care due to small machinery on site.
The partnership apologised for any inconvenience the improvement work may cause and advised anyone who has any queries to call Emma Ashton-Wickett, Paths for All People officer, on 0300-026-0645 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
