Overnight closures on the A1 in North Yorkshire
12:00pm Monday 14th October 2013 in News
DRIVERS are being advised that a short section the northbound A1 in North Yorkshire will close overnight this week for resurfacing work.
The carriageway between Catterick North interchange and the Scotch Corner junction with the A66 will be closed for three nights from tomorrow, October 15, between 8pm and 6am.
Drivers travelling northbound along the A1 will be required to leave the route at Brompton-on-Swale and sent west along the B6271 towards Richmond where they will need to take the northbound A6108 Darlington Road and rejoin the A1 at Scotch Corner interchange.
The work is designed to prolong the life of the carriageway, enhance the reflectivity of the road markings, and improve road safety. Drivers planning journeys are advised to allow extra time for taking the diversion route.
