TERRITORIAL Army recruiters are heading for the North-East hoping to attract potential recruits.
Members of the public will be able to talk to TA members on Saturday, October 19, to find out what opportunities are on offer.
The TA is a chance for people aged 18 and who want to combine opportunities of an army role with their everyday life.
50 Signal Squadron will be stationed at Bradford Armoury, in Neasham Road, Darlington from 10am to 2pm.
They specialise in communications, a varied role which involves working with anything from satellites to radio communications.
5th Battalion Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, 102 Battalion Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers and 201 Field Hospital will all be at the Aycliffe Armoury, in Northfield Way, Newton Aycliffe, from 9am to 4pm.
They have combined experience of a variety of sectors within the TA, including medical and mechanical roles.
Brigadier Andrew Jackson, director of Army recruiting and training, said: “These events are to show people from Darlington and Newton Aycliffe that, no matter what your skills or background, the Army has something to offer you and serving with the TA provides opportunities to learn much more beyond military skills.”
The Ministry of Defence is investing £1.8bn to make significant improvements to the TA.
