Man in court charged with murder of Middlesbrough father-of-one
TRIBUTES have been paid to a man who died at the weekend following an alleged stabbing.
Andrew David Hopkins was involved at an incident at an address on Marton Road, Middlesborugh, just after midnight on Sunday.
The 28-year-old, from the town, leaves behind a ten-year-old daughter.
A family statement, issued through Cleveland Police, read: “He was a man that loved being outdoors and on his bike. He loved life and was happiest being on a bike ride with his daughter.
"He leaves his beautiful ten-year-old daughter behind, whom he thought the world of. He also leaves three special nephews that he loved dearly.
"He was a man who was the life and soul of any party and was loved by all he met. He will be terribly missed.”
Detective are asking for anyone with information to come forward by calling the 101 number or anonymously on Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111.
A 42-year-old man has been charged with murder and appeared at Teesside Magistrates’ Court today (Monday).
William Tomlin, 42, of Marton Road, Middlesbrough, spoke only to confirm his name and address during a brief court hearing.
He did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody until he appears before Teesside Crown Court on Wednesday (October 9).
