Dragon Duncan to sign copies of his autobiography at Darlington event
6:17pm Monday 7th October 2013 in News
DRAGON’S Den star Duncan Bannatyne will visit the North-East next week to sign copies of his latest autobiography.
Mr Bannatyne will appear at WH Smith in the Cornmill Centre, in Darlington, at 11am on Thursday, October 17, to promote Riding the Storm – My Journey to the Brink and Back, his second volume of memoirs.
The follow-up to Anyone Can Do It is said to give an insight into how Mr Bannatyne has survived personal and professional setbacks, including the break-up of his second marriage and the recession.
A spokesman said: “He talks candidly about his own businesses, the way the crisis unfolded and the conversations he had with Gordon Brown at the time.
“He also offers advice to start-up entrepreneurs operating in today’s market, reveals the true nature of his relationships with the other dragons and discusses the opportunities that success has given him.”
Mr Bannatyne is a well-known figure in Darlington as the headquarters of his business empire are based in the town.
The book signing in Darlington is one of only two official signings taking place in the UK, with the second to be held in Glasgow.
WHSmith store manager Oliver Gregory said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Duncan Bannatyne to the store. He’s a popular figure both locally and nationally, so we’re expecting a big turn-out.”
People can purchase a copy of Riding the Storm from WHSmith on the day to have it signed, or if they have pre-purchased copies, receipts will be required to get their copy signed.
