Richmond Royal British Legion donates keyboard to veterans recovery centre
4:21pm Monday 7th October 2013 in News
THE RICHMOND branch of the Royal British Legion has donated an electronic keyboard, stool, headphones and music books to a Help for Heroes recovery centre for wounded, injured and sick veterans.
The equipment is now available for use by residents at Phoenix House Recovery Centre, Catterick Garrison, after Richmond Poppy Appeal organiser David Johnson was offered the items by a Richmond resident.
He said: “Mrs Nesta Crosse in Richmond donated the items to me and I thought Phoenix House would be the ideal home for them.”
Kelly Bostock, support programme manager at the centre, said: “Music plays an important part in the recovery of the wounded or injured veterans and personnel.
“The keyboard is a really welcome addition to our music workshops and we are very grateful to Mrs Crosse and the RBL for thinking of us.”
