Butterwick Children's Hospice appeals to public to send cards to the children
A CHILDREN’S hospice is aiming to get hundreds, even thousands, of birthday cards to celebrate its 15th anniversary.
Butterwick Children’s Hospice, based in Stockton but helping children from across the region, wants to fill a large wall in the reception area with cards and letters.
The hospice isn’t asking for donations, just a message from individuals saying ‘thinking of you.’
“It would mean so much to the children and their families,” said charity worker Jackie Firth.
“We did it for the tenth anniversary and had letters from the Prime Minister and lots of MPs, Bill Oddie from The Goodies and all kinds of celebrities. But it was the message from ordinary, everyday people that really made it special.
"We’re hoping to get even more cards this time to fill a whole wall. It can be a birthday card, a ‘thinking of you’ card or just a message. It really shows the children how much people care.”
Cards can be sent to Butterwick House, Children’s Hospice, Middlefield Road, Stockton, TS19 8XN.
