A GARAGE owner whose daughter successfully battled breast cancer turned his birthday bash into a fundraising night for a charity that funds research into the disease.
Gregg Little, of Gregg Little Testing Centre in Newton Aycliffe, raised £400 for Cancer Research UK by asking friends and family to make a donation to the charity instead of giving him a birthday present last month.
The 70-year-old, of Richmond in North Yorkshire, was inspired by his daughter, Ruth Bulmer, who successfully battled breast cancer.
And the fundraising does not there, Gregg Little mechanics also joined forces with staff at Aycliffe Autos recently for a gruelling 144-mile coast-to-coast cycle challenge.
The team raised £1,250 for Macmillan Cancer Care and Willowburn Hospice, in Alnwick, Northumberland.
