The following cases were heard by South Durham Magistrates sitting at Darlington Magistrates' Court:
SENTENCE BREACH: Abigail Rae Noble, 21, of Middleton Street, Darlington, admitted two breaches of a suspended sentence order imposed by Teesside Crown Court. As punishment, magistrates imposed an eight week curfew, valid between 7pm and 7am each night, and ordered her to continue with community requirements of the original order.
SHOP THEFTS: Michael Edward York, 32, of Louisa Street, Darlington, admitted two charges of theft from a shop, including £59.98 worth of clothing from Simply Pleasures, on Bondgate, Darlington, and display goods from Argos, worth £39.90. The court heard he stole to buy heroin for his partner, who he has now broken up with. He was given a 12 month conditional discharge and must also pay compensation to both shops. He must also pay court costs of £85 and a £15 victim surcharge.
CLOTHES STOLEN: Lisa Michelle Burnside, 39, of Elmfield Street, Darlington, pleaded guilty to two charges of theft from a shop. Burnside admitted taking clothes from Matalan and a jacket worth £25 Greenwoods. The case was adjourned until Thursday, October 3, to allow a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
