Pervert hypnotherapist who turned North Yorkshire mum into sex slave is jailed
A PERVERT hypnotist who turned a married mum into his sex slave when she went to him for weight-loss treatment was today jailed for 18 months.
Timothy Porter was told he had devastated the life of his victim, who has had to give up work, has trouble sleeping and suffers from panic attacks.
Porter - a self-taught therapist and war hero - was said to have suffered a spectacular fall from grace with " an almighty blight on his character".
The 40-year-old had served in the RAF from the age of 16 and had been involved in a number of conflicts, his barrister told Teesside Crown Court.
Jon Gregg, mitigating, said: "Sad it is to see a man who has served his country proudly for so many years in the dock staring down the barrel of custody.
"For him to have attained the age of 40 without troubling the police or the courts, that is now gone with this almighty blight on his character."
Porter exposed himself and made his patient fondle her breasts during what was supposed to be a weight-loss session at her home in North Yorkshire.
Prosecutor Jonathan Walker told the court that the woman woke from her hypnotic state after something touched her neck and saw him holding his penis.
Porter was based at RAF Leeming in North Yorkshire, but was due to leave after 24 years' service at the time of the offence in December last year.
Mr Walker said his conduct became "sexualised" at an early stage of their dealings and once asked the woman if she would like "heightened orgasms"
In December, during a visit to the woman's home, while her kids slept upstairs, he put her into a hypnotic trance and ordered her to be his sex slave.
Mr Walker told the judge, Recorder Tim Gittins, that she contacted police after "waking" to find him with his trousers down and telling her to touch herself.
After four or five sessions, he had turned up unannounced at the mum-of-three's home and told her that he would "take her deeper than he had in the past"
He kept uttering the words "no mind, no will of your own" and Mr Walker said: "He took her deeper into hypnosis and she began to acquiesce.
"This was a breach of trust and it seems to be the use of hypnosis as a weapon to nullify the victim's consent . . . hypnosis being used as coercion."
Porter, now of Ouseburn Road, Blackburn, admitted causing a person to engage in sexual activity, and was also put on the sex offenders' register for ten years.
Mr Recorder Gittins told him: "You indicated you were going to put her into a deeper trance than normal . . . that was really a ruse to enable you to engage in sexual suggestion.
"I have read the impact statement that lists the effects that this had upon her and you ought to realise the devastating effect it has had on her."
Porter was also banned for ten years from practising hypnotherapy or hypnotism after the judge told him: "It is of concern that you engaged in such activity with a number of females without, in reality, learning any of the dangers or restrictions."
