Careers fair for youngsters with emphasis on entrepreneurial skills

A CAREERS event will be encouraging young people to take the initiative and start their own businesses.
As well as showcasing a wide range of employment opportunities, the Yorkshire Agricultural Society’s Careers in Focus event, on Tuesday, October 8 at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate, will feature a new young entrepreneurs section.
A number of Yorkshire-based young businessmen and women have been invited to attend for the first time and will be talking about how they set up their own companies, and encouraging pupils from schools across Yorkshire to make their own careers instead of following more traditional employment paths.
Pupils from St Aidan’s Academy, Darlington, will join around 2,000 secondary school pupils from across the Yorkshire region are expected to attend Careers in Focus, which is a one-stop shop to talk to experts and learn more about a whole host of employment paths.
Students will be able to learn about careers ranging from construction and engineering to healthcare, horticulture and law.
