X FACTOR singers will join forces with more than 100 talented North East acts for Middlesbrough Live this Saturday in a day-long celebration of music, comedy and performance.
Soulful singer and songwriter Charlie Brown, who had a top 10 hit this year with 'On My Way', will join former X-Factor talents Misha B and MK1 at an evening concert at Middlesbrough Live.
Song writing workshops with Middlesbrough's Carl Pemberton, formerly with X Factor’s Journey South, have sold out but the public can still sign up for free workshops in contemporary and street dance, performing arts, samba, film-making and even beginners' ukulele, all taking place in Cleveland Centre's Emporium.
Dozens of Teesside music acts and comedians will perform at smaller venues including town centre bars Mink, Princess Alice, Walkabout, The Lobby, O'Connell's and The Central, while local talents Bre Musiq, Joshua Daniel, Elle Wood, Kerianne and Taylor Mayd will support the ticketed town hall gig.
Another highlight of Middlesbrough Live promises to be the free mima Live event from 7pm to 10pm, with performances from The Lake Poets of Sunderland, Teesside punk legends Pellethead and Newcastle's Tissue Culture.
Local bars will open their doors to music lovers for a series of free concerts, from around noon and carrying on through to 9pm, while the fun and music will continue until the early hours at Mink.
Tickets to the Town Hall event featuring Charlie Brown, Misha B and MK1 are priced £10 each, from Middlesbrough Town Hall Box Office, Albert Road, Middlesbrough, TS1 2QJ. Call 01642-729729 or 815181, email firstname.lastname@example.org or pay on the night.
