Fire advice for Cleveland residents during electrical safety week
2:44pm Thursday 26th September 2013 in News
FIRE chiefs in Cleveland are urging local residents to carry out regular maintenance checks on household appliances such as tumble dryers, washing machines and dishwashers to prevent fires in the home.
The warning from Cleveland Fire Brigade comes during Electrical Fire Safety Week (September 23-29) which is designed to highlight the dangers that electrical items can pose and how residents can stay safe by following some simple advice.
Statistics show that a third of all accidental house fires in Cleveland are caused by faulty or misused electrical equipment.
