STAFF at a fish and chip shop are celebrating after it was given a national quality award.
The Fox Hall Inn, near Richmond, North Yorkshire, has been awarded the Fish and Chip Quality Award by The National Federation of Fish (NFFF).
Established since 1913, the NFFF works to promote and protect the interest of around 8,500 fish and chip proprietors throughout the UK.
The scheme is a way of rewarding and promoting shops that provide good quality products combined with high standards of hygiene.
Owners Steve and Jenifer Baker re-opened Fox Hall Inn in March, following extensive refurbishment.
Along with their family, they worked hard to fulfil their aim of providing high quality, traditional fish and chips at reasonable prices paralleled with an efficient service in comfortable, attractive surroundings.
Having already won the prize once before and with more than 15 years' experience in the fish and chip trade, the husband and wife, along with their two daughters, Katie and Lucy, set their aims high.
They entered Fox Hall to win Fish and chip Quality Award only to win the six months after opening.
Katie Baker said: "When we bought the Inn we all worked really hard to bring it to this standard.”
Now also offering a popular takeaway service, the Baker family will be presented with their award by “Ladette to Lady” star- Jill Harbord on September 30.
Mr and Mrs Baker added: "We are thrilled to receive this award so soon after opening. It is wonderful that the hard work and enthusiasm of the whole team at Fox Hall has been recognised in this way."
