Elderly residents name extra care development
3:02pm Sunday 22nd September 2013 in News
RESIDENTS of a home for the elderly which is being replaced by a complex allowing people to remain in their own home alongside support, have selected a name for the new development.
Contractors Keepmoat said Cherry Garth residents had decided the complex in Chapel Street, Sowerby, would be known as Meadowfields, after receiving a list of suggestions from Thirsk School pupils.
The first phase of the extra care development, which will include 52 flats, a public library and a range of communal facilities, is expected to be completed by February.
