Gurkha Brigade Band to perform at Darlington
A CONCERT by the Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas iwill be staged at the Dolphin Centre on October 2.
The event is to raise money for Gurkha veterans in Nepal and will feature an eclectic mix of Nepalese and Western music, including the famous Kukri dance, as well as traditional Nepalese dances.
Lt Col (Retd) Keith Ryding, chairman of the Yorkshire Branch Gurkha Welfare Trust, said: “This is a rare opportunity to hear the renowned Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas and to support elderly Gurkhas who have fought so bravely for our country when they were young and are now in need.
“The band only comes to Darlington once a year and I hope local people will grab this opportunity to hear their music.”
