Callous thief stole cyclist's bike while paramedics treated his injuries following Middlesbrough incident

AN INJURED cyclist had his bike stolen while he was being treated by paramedics last night (Thursday).
The 27-year-old man was making his way along Ayresome Street when the collision occurred at the junction of Essex Street at about 8pm The vehicle, which made off, is believed to be a Skoda Octavia.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “The cyclist suffered severe facial injuries and broken ribs. Whilst paramedics treated the man at the scene, his pedal cycle was stolen. He was taken to James Cook University Hospital and detained.”
Any witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have information regarding the car involved or the stolen pedal cycle, are asked to contact PC Martin Tranmer of the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency 101 number, quoting reference number 166830.
