Famous TV comedian and author meets hundreds of youngsters in Stockton to promote his book
FAMOUS comedian and author Charlie Higson met hundreds of youngsters in the region today (Thursday, September 19) to promote his new book.
The actor, best known for comedy TV programme The Fast Show, spoke to more than 320 secondary school pupils in Stockton’s Arc venue.
Charlie Higson talked for an hour about life as a writer and his latest book, The Fallen, and also showed a short trailer film about the story.
He then answered questions before signing copies of his book to pupils, who were aged from 11 to 14.
Lucy Carlton-Walker, children and young person’s librarian for Stockton Borough Council, said the event had been a success. “It was really good to have so many students there interested in the books,” she said.
The book is the fifth part of Charlie Higson’s zombie adventure series, The Enemy, which has sold over 215,000 copies in the UK since its launch in 2009. Students from St Patricks RC Comprehensive School, Conyers School Maths and Computing Specialist College, Northfield School and Sports College, North Shore Academy, Egglescliffe School, Grangefield School and Yarm school attended.
