Richmondshire caravan site application rejected
12:48pm Wednesday 18th September 2013 in News
PLANNERS have rejected a proposal to allow 20 holiday caravans to become permanent homes.
Members of Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority planning committee voted against the scheme at Swaleview Caravan Park, in Reeth Road, near Richmond.
Owner Andrew Carter wanted to alter planning conditions to allow the static vans to become permanent residences.
However, planning officials said the scheme would result in residential development in open countryside and in a flood zone.
The Swaledale branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England and the Environment Agency also objected to the plans.
