Memorial walkway created at Darlington hospice
5:05pm Tuesday 17th September 2013 in News
ST Teresa’s Hospice has launched a project that will enable participants to remember loved ones and raise funds for the charity.
The Woodlands Walk is being created as part of events to mark the charity’s 25th anniversary.
Construction of the walk is now under way, following a donation from MKM Building Supplies, which has donated the bricks and other materials.
Donations can be made to the hospice in exchange for having a personalised paving stone laid in the new path through the gardens and grounds.
Tony Walton, of MKM Building Supplies, said: “We strive to get involved with our local communities, so we’re delighted to be able to support St Teresa’s Hospice in this way.
“The Woodlands Walk will be a lasting reminder of the importance of the charity’s work with individual people, and we’re very pleased to be a part of it.”
A special service will be held at St Teresa’s Hospice on Thursday (September 19), for supporters who have sponsored a stone, during which the path will be officially unveiled.
