Room at the top for a tea party
10:12am Tuesday 17th September 2013 in News
A VERY high tea has raised £1,200 for charity.
Carli McNaughton, 26, who runs The Olde Young Teahouse, in Middlesbrough, hosted her own tea party on the top of Mount Snowdon, in Wales.
The money will go to Teesside Hospice in Middlesbrough, that needs to raise about £2.2m every year.
Miss McNaughton was accompanied on the climb by local music promoter Henry Carden and maths teacher John Pacey. They trio managed to conquer Britain’s second highest peak in seven hours.
“The climb was amazing but harder than I expected. I’ve been training for the past few months but nothing you do can actually prepare you for it unless you have done something like that before.”
