Darlington man denies harassment charge

PETER CRESSER, 25, of Zetland Street, Darlington, denied racially aggravated harassment when he appeared at Darlington Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (September 12).
The case was adjourned until November 18, at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court, and Cresser was released on unconditional bail.
BOOK READINGS: Residents and visitors are invited to Head of Steam, Darlington Railway Museum, for a special book reading on Saturday, September 28. There will be readings by Tony Stowers,from his book, ‘No.1’. This is to commemorate the anniversary of the opening of the Stockton and Darlington Railway on September 27, 1825. Tony was born in Darlington, and has worked in theatre, performing and writing plays, before moving into books. Tony will give three readings during the afternoon at 2pm, 2.30pm and 3pm. Each reading will last 15 minutes with time for questions. The readings are included as part of normal admission prices, and annual passes. There is no need to book in advance, just come along on the day. Refreshments will be available.
