Chance to discover more about fostering
6:59pm Monday 9th September 2013 in News
RESIDENTS across County Durham are being given the chance to find out more about fostering.
Florence Coulter, fostering manager, said: “We often find that people are hesitant to come forward and we know that they have lots of questions to ask.
“They tell us it’s not clear what’s involved in becoming a foster carer and they want to find out what support is available to help along the way.
“We think the best way for anyone to get the answers they want is to come and chat with a foster carer, they can tell you what fostering is all about. These open events are a great opportunity to learn more without making a commitment.
“We know there’s a lot to think about and hope we can answer some of your questions in a less formal environment and over a coffee.”
Anyone interested can call in to one of the following sessions: Spennymoor Town Hall, Thursday 12 September; The Pavilion, Peterlee, Friday, September 19; Four Clocks Centre, Bishop Auckland, Thursday, September 19; and Durham Town Hall, Market Place, Friday, September 20.
All sessions will take place between 4.30pm and 6.30pm.
