SCI-FI fans can enjoy an out of this world experience at Kirkleatham Museum, near Redcar
SCI-FI fans are in for a treat when a selection of props from blockbuster films go on display.
Kirkleatham Museum, near Redcar, will be taken over by Invasion with costumes from Star Trek, aliens from Star Wars and the creatures from the Alien films to name but a few attractions.
The family friendly exhibition opens tomorrow (Saturday, September 7) and runs until November 3.
Olwyn Peters, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council’s cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism, said the exhibition is a must-see for any movie lover.
She said: “Invasion features genuine items that were used in the filming of some of the world’s most famous sci-fi films.
“People who come will be given the chance to get up close and personal with some of the most recognisable characters in television and film. “We’re delighted to hold the exhibition and believe there is something of interest for both casual film fans and passionate sci-fi buffs.”
Entry to the exhibition is £2 for adults and £1 for children, including a free second visit, while under-fives go free.
The museum is open 10am to 5pm, Tuesday to Sunday, but last admission into the exhibition is 4pm.
From October 1 the museum shuts an hour earlier, throughout winter, and last admission into the exhibition is 3.30pm.
