A FORMER soldier has been charged with arson and affray.
Christopher Robert Beckett, of Surtees Street, Bishop Auckland, County Durham, is alleged to have committed arson at a house on Brighton Road, Darlington, on Tuesday, September 3.
The fire damaged blinds, carpets, walls and skirting boards within the property.

Mr Beckett was remanded in custody until the hearing.
