6:34pm Monday 2nd September 2013 in News
THE trial of a skip hire director who denied a number of serious environmental breaches will begin later this week.
Raymond Shepherd, of Albert Hill Skip Hire, in Darlington, pleaded not guilty in December last year to running the company’s Dodsworth Street depot without an Environment Agency permit.
Mr Shepherd, of West Musgrave Farm, St Helen Auckland, also previously denied flouting a suspension notice to stop trading as a waste transfer operation and unlawfully depositing waste at his home address.
Two other members of Shepherd's family - Paul Shepherd and Jack Shepherd - were also due to go on trial at Teesside Crown Court today (Monday, September 2) after pleading not guilty to similar allegations.
The trial has been adjourned until Thursday, September 5.
