Exhibition will track the history of Victorian bathhouse
A NEW exhibition will trace the history of a Victorian bathhouse in Darlington.
The photographic display will tell the story of the town’s Gladstone Baths, which opened as an open-air pool in the 1850s and closed in the 1980s.
As well as photographs, the exhibition will feature building plans, posters, programmes and a diary used to record the daily takings.
It will be held at the Centre for Local Studies in Crown Street Library from Tuesday September 3 until Saturday September 28.
Visitors will be invited to add their memories of the baths to the library archive.
