Diversions and delays for overnight works on A66 this week
MOTORISTS have been warned to expect overnight delays on the A66 west this week due to resurfacing works.
The work on the A66 will take part in two phases from tomorrow (Monday, September 2) between Smallways and Scotch Corner, affecting traffic to Barnard Castle.
The first phase, between Monday and Wednesday, September 4, will see the A66 closed to eastbound traffic at Rokeby between 8pm and 6am.
Traffic will be diverted north to Barnard Castle via the A67, and will rejoin the A66 at Scotch Corner via marked diversions.
Westbound traffic will not be diverted but controlled by traffic lights and convoyed past the working area at a reduced speed of 10mph.
The second phase will take place on the westbound carriageway overnight 8pm to 6am between September 5 and 8.
The A66 will be closed to westbound traffic at Scotch Corner, with motorway traffic diverted north on the A1M, via the A68, A668 and A67, rejoining at Rokeby to the South of Barnard Castle. Eastbound traffic will operate under convoy.
