Appeal to trace relatives of Hartlepool man

AN APPEAL has been made to try to trace any surviving relatives of a man who has died in Hartlepool.
Harold McLeod, who was born on May 14 1930, passed away aged 83 on August 27 in Brierton Lodge Care Home.
Relatives are urged to contact Janet Dickinson, Team Manager in Hartlepool Council’s Child and Adult Services Department on 01429-523883.
PHONE SCAM: ClevelandPolice are warning members of the public of a scam where a man distracted his victim before stealing his iPhone. The incident happened at around 1.30pm on Wednesday, August 28 at Oakleaf Kitchens in Greatham Street, Hartlepool. A man distracted a member of staff by claiming not to speak English and showing him a piece of paper with writing which the member of staff attempted to translate into English whilst the suspect stole his iPhone. The suspect is described as a white male, possibly Eastern European, aged in his twenties, of skinny build, around 5ft 4ins -5ft 8ins tall and black hair with a Mohican hair style. The man was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans. Anyone with information should contact Cleveland Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
