Teenagers attacked at house party
TEENAGERS at a house-party were left injured when two women unexpectedly launched a violent attack, a court heard.
Two 16-year-old girls enjoying a party at a property in Darlington were left terrified after being attacked by 20-year-old Alisha Corrina Nelson and Cheryl Dawn Nelson, 32, on Sunday, May 12.
The Nelsons appeared before Darlington Magistrates Court yesterday (Thursday August 29), having both pleaded guilty to charges of assault.
Vickie Wilson, prosecuting, said: “In the early hours of the morning, the girls were upstairs in a bedroom, sitting on a bed and talking to the host and some others.
“A female ran upstairs shouting and screaming at them to get out of the house. That was Cheryl Nelson, the host’s ex-girlfriend.
“Miss Nelson grabbed them both by the hair and started to drag them from the bedroom and push them towards the stairs.
“Both girls thought she was going to push them down the stairs.”
While calling the girls names, Cheryl Nelson punched one of them in the face and shouted Alisha Nelson to help her get them out of the house.
One of the teens struggled free and ran downstairs, being kicked in the back by Alisha Nelson as she did.
The other girl was further attacked by Cheryl Nelson who shoved her to the floor, kicking her repeatedly in the face and leaving her with severe bruising and a suspected broken cheekbone.
For one count of assault, Alisha Nelson – of Geneva Road, Darlington – was given a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £100 costs.
Cheryl Nelson – also of Geneva Road – faces two counts of assault and will be sentenced at a later date.
