Darlington Rotary Club presents £1,800 raised for St Teresa's Hospice through triathlon event
A SUCCESSFUL sporting extravaganza hosted by Darlington Rotary Club has boosted the coffers of St Teresa’s Hospice.
The club raised £1,800 for the hospice through the Darlington Rotary Triathlon held at the start of the summer.
The event saw more than 174 competitors swim, cycle and run on a circuit around Darlington School of Maths and Science.
Rotary President Ken Young and international committee chairman Rotarian Brian Heritage recently visited St Teresa’s to present hospice director Jane Bradshaw with the cheque.
Ms Bradshaw, who co-ordinated the event, thanked the Rotary members and their families who gave up their time to steward the triathlon as well as a group of air cadets who also stepped in to help.
