FOUR out of five separated parents in the North-East are paying towards the upbringing of their child, according to figures released today (Wednesday August 28).
The number of separated parents who are paying towards their children through the Child Support Agency (CSA) has risen this year, according to statistics released by the Department of Work and Pensions.
Following a relationship breakdown, 82% of the region’s parents have contributed financially to bringing up their child – equating to 51,040 children benefiting, a rise of 1,600 from last year.
Figures for Yorkshire and The Humber also show a rise, with 90,650 children benefiting, compared to 87,490 in 2012.
