Charity golf event with hole-in-one car prize
GOLF enthusiasts will have the chance to drive home in a new car if they can achieve a hole-in-one at a charity game.
Herriot Hospice Homecare is hosting the charity golf day on Wednesday, September 11 at Romanby Golf and Country Club, near Northallerton.
A Peugeot 208 has been donated by dealership Simon Bailes in the town.
Neil Bielby from the car showroom said: “It’s really encouraging to see so many local businesses supporting this very important local charity.
“Times may be tough but we must not forget the organisations that need our support and, as a company, we do try to do what we can.
“We were really pleased to be able to help out and provide the 208 for the hole-in-one winner and I’m looking forward to see who achieves it.”
Herriot Hospice Homecare has just celebrated 21 years of caring for patients and the charity golf day is another way to raise funds to maintain the much-needed valued service.
The hospice allows people with life-limiting illnesses to be treated in their own homes and covers around 1,000 square miles of North Yorkshire.
The hospice is also being supported at the golf day by Black Sheep Brewery, which is supplying All Creatures bottled beer at the complimentary half-way house and the Northallerton branch of the Yorkshire Bank has agreed to fund match the event.
There will also be a further three hole-in-one prizes - a golfing holiday for two at a top hotel in Portugal; a weekend for four at Marriot Forest of Arden; and a set of Callaway RAZR irons.
