Call for support for St Teresa's Hospice annual golf tournament
AN annual golf day that has raised thousands for St Teresa’s Hospice is hoping to smash the £140,000 barrier this year.
Home-based care provider, Heritage Healthcare, is organising the event at Blackwell Grange Golf Club in Darlington on September 6 and is encouraging North East residents and businesses to get involved.
Over the last 11 years the event has raised £128,000 for the Darlington hospice and last year’s golf day attracted 30 teams.
Heritage Healthcare director and event organiser Sally Pickersgill said: "As a community care-focused business we are keen on giving something back to the wider local community.
“St Teresa’s is an exceptionally good cause and everyone here at Heritage Healthcare along with the Golf Day supporters, including Landteam, have a huge amount of respect and admiration for the services and care the hospice provides.
“We are proud to be long-term supporters of the hospice and are hoping that we can break through the £140,000 fundraising barrier.”
Jane Bradshaw, St Teresa’s Hospice director, added: “The support of Heritage Healthcare and Landteam during the years has been of immense value to St Teresa’s Hospice.
“We rely on support from people and businesses in this community to be able to continue our work, and we are very grateful for all the effort and time that Heritage Healthcare, and all those that make a contribution, put into this Golf Day fundraiser.”
