A CHILDREN’S hospice has received a financial boost thanks to the efforts of a local building society.
Staff from the Middlesbrough branch of Darlington Building Society have donated £185 from their community support budget to Zoe’s Place as they continue to support the charity in the town.
They also raised money by raffling teddy bears, colouring books and other items at their branch on Corporation Road.
Office manager Erin Millar said: “Zoe’s Place is an incredible charity and we were so moved by what it does that staff here just wanted to do a little bit more to help.
“The money was raised quite quickly. Zoe’s Place is very popular with people in Middlesbrough. It does an amazing job in providing hospice care for very young children.”
The charity provides respite and palliative care for babies and infants from birth to five years old who have life limiting conditions.
Elaine Dunning, of Zoe’s Place, said: “We are very grateful to the staff of Darlington Building Society. We are dependent on the kindness and generosity of local people to keep our services going.”
