Dales motorbike race returns after 35-year absence
A MOTORBIKE race has returned to a Yorkshire Dales village after a 35-year absence.
The Bainbridge and District Motor Club has relaunched its once-renowned hill climb event.
More than 100 riders were watched by dozens of spectators on August 14.
The Guy Cockburn Rose Bowl was won by Kendal rider Dave Todd on his Kawasaki KX500 motocross bike.
Organiser Bob Foster said: "I’d like to say a big thanks to the land owners and a huge thanks to everyone else involved in organising, setting up, running and clear up afterwards - there are just too many people to thank.
"It was a memorable evening."
As well as the hill climb, there was a motor show featuring old cars, motorbikes, tractors and karts.
