A TRIATHLON raised more than £1,000 for a North-East hospice recently.
The Darlington British Triathlon event was held to raise funds for the town’s St Teresa’s Hospice.
Organised by the Darlington Rotary Club, the triathlon in May raised £1,800.
The group chose to support the hospice because, since its opening in 1986, a number of Rotarians have been involved in its management and funding.
Every year since the hospice was founded, the Rotary Club has organised a number of fundraising events in its honour.
Last week, Rotary President Ken Young and International Committee Chairman Rotarian Brian Heritage visited the hospice and presented its director Jane Bradshaw with a cheque for £1,800.
