A REWARD is being offered by a band whose valuable equipment was targeted by thieves.

Darlington rockers Mustang have appealed for the safe return of guitar amps stolen at the weekend.

A rack of equipment, including Marshall amps, tuners and conditioners, was taken from a van belonging to the band’s guitarist following rehearsals on Saturday, May 18.

The van was parked in a secure back yard on Gurney Street in Darlington when it was broken into.

Drummer Phil Bulmer said: “Our guitarist is absolutely devastated. Not only is the equipment worth a lot of money, but it’s years of perfecting the tone and sounds in the effects unit that will be virtually impossible to replicate.

“As a band, we are all disgusted that someone could take this. They probably don’t even have any idea what the equipment is. We have our debut album out this year and many shows planned. It’s going to be a huge struggle for us as a band now.”

Mr Bulmer said the band were willing to offer £100 to anyone who could provide information resulting in the safe return of the stolen goods.

Darlington Police are investigating the theft and are appealing to anyone with information to contact them on non-emergency number 101.
