A WRITING Retreat Day being staged in Teesdale will help people put pen to paper.

The event, at The Morritt, Greta Bridge, near Barnard Castle, is being organised by Durham Creatives and led by creative writing coach Judith Lesley Marshall.

Writers of all genres, from beginners to advanced, published or not, are welcome to attend.

Ms Marshall said: “The aim of the day is to write in the company of other creative people, to swap writing tips, books and ideas in surroundings which inspired writers and artists such as Dickens and Turner.

“It is hoped that writers will end the day equipped with pages of words that they would not otherwise have written and renewed enthusiasm for continuing with personal writing projects.”

A selection of resources and exercises will offer inspiration should writers run out of steam on their own project.

The event takes place on Wednesday, May 8, from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

Places can be booked online at www.durhamcreatives.co.uk.
