THE stars of an iconic musical have gathered ahead of a week of performances at a North-East theatre.
A concert version of Boogie Nights, which promises 70 songs from the 1970s, kicks off at Darlington’s Civic Theatre tonight (Monday, April 8).
The show features Pop Idol runner-up Gareth Gates, Eastenders’ Louisa Lytton and X-Factor stars Chico and Andy Abraham, who will perform against a backdrop of video images from the 1970s.
Boogie Nights was first performed in the West End, starring Shane Richie as Roddy, a role now played by his son, Shane Richie Junior.
The show will be performed each night until Saturday, April 13, at 7.30pm. Matinee shows will be held at 2pm on Thursday and 2.30pm on Saturday.
Tickets priced between £18 and £32.50 are available from the box office on 01325-486555 or at darlingtoncivic.co.uk
