Barnard Castle Town Council plans introduction of Green Dog Walkers Initiative

POOP SCOOP: Teedale Action Partnership has agreed to give £500 from its small grants scheme for the environment to Barnard Castle Town Council to help fund the introduction of a Green Dog Walkers Initiative.

EASTER SERVICE: The Easter Sunday service at Newbiggin Methodist Chapel on March 31 will take place at 8.30am and is being led by Reverend Beverley Hollings. All welcome, but would those attending please park near the village hall.

NETWORK MEETING: The next meeting of the Teesdale Networking Group will be held at Enterprise House, on the Harmire Enterprise Park, Barnard Castle, on Wendesday April 10, starting at 9.30am. For more details, contact Lynn Todhunter on 01833-696750.

FESTIVE TALKS: Easter may be just around the corner, but town councillors in Barnard Castle will meet on Monday, March 25, to begin planning this year's Christmas Festival. Members will discuss the festive lighting displays at the meeting, which takes place at Woodleigh, Flatts Road, Barnard Castle, starting at 7pm.

BLOOMING GREAT: St Andrew's Church, Winston, will be decorated with spring flowers and blossoms to celebrate Easter and will remain open on Easter Sunday and Monday during daylight hours.

SLOW DOWN: Motorists who speed through Mickleton came under fire at a recent meeting of the Dales Police and Communities Together (PACT) meeting. Dog fouling in Leekworth Gardens, Middleton-in-Teesdale was also raised as a problem. Both issues have been made police priorities for the coming month.
