Darlington police appeal for help to track stolen tools
11:05am Friday 15th March 2013 in News
POLICE are urging people living in an area of Darlington to check in their gardens for tools that do not belong to them.
Officers are appealing to residents in the Brinkburn Avenue and Darrowby Drive areas of the town to search their gardens for tools that may have been abandoned.
The plea follows a spate of shed burglaries during the past two weeks.
PC Gary McLean said: “We believe tools connected to these incidents may have been abandoned in these areas and I would ask residents of houses in those localities to have a look around their gardens and let us know if they find any.”
Anybody with any information is asked to contact PC McLean on the non-emergency number, 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111.
Two local youths, aged 16 and 13, have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and bailed pending further enquiries.
