Recycling scheme will now take card

THE scope of recycling in the Richmondshire area has been extended.
Light card has been added to the list of items the council will now collect - plain and printed grey and white card can be added into the recycling bag taking paper products.
Greeting cards, cereal packets, ready meal sleeves and tea bag boxes can now all be added to the list.
“Our residents have been asking for some time for us to increase the items we recycle,” said Coun Jill McMullon.
“By adding card to the list of products we can take at the kerbside we can reduce the amount we send to landfill and increase the income for the authority.”
