St Patrick's night coming to Hamsterley

PATRICK’S CELEBRATION: A St Patrick’s night celebration will be held at Hamsterley Social Club at 8pm on Saturday, March 16. Entry will cost £3 and entertainment will be provided by local vocalist Mark Hodgson followed by a disco. Fancy dress is optional.
FRIDAY EVENTS: Crook Churches Together will mark Good Friday with an outdoor witness event starting at noon at the Cenotaph on Friday, March 29. Lee Puchala from Darlington has penned a series of monologues relating the story of Jesus’ passion and everyone present will be invited to place a description or a photograph of something of concern in their life onto the wooden cross which will be the centre-piece.
SANCTUARY APPROVAL: Far Place animal sanctuary at Sidehead in Westgate has been given planning permission by Durham County Council to build a new feed store. The stone built shelter will need to accommodate up to a month’s supply of food.
