Call for community's support in Lottery bid
4:13pm Wednesday 13th March 2013 in News
Groundwork North East is asking residents to get involved in a Lottery bid to help maintain Darlington’s green spaces. The group is urging residents to fill out a survey on the town’s parks and nature reserves so that the information can help its Lottery application. If successful, the Lottery money would be used to encourage more volunteering and to fund schemes across the borough’s green spaces. The survey is at: surveymonkey.com/s/darlingtonsgreenspaces
COMIC RELIEF: Leg waxing, tombolas and onesies will continue the Comic Relief fundraising at the Victoria Road Sainsbury’s this Friday. Staff will be in fancy dress and store manager James Dale will wear a onsie if they raise £100 in sponsorship. Sainsbury’s staff would also like to thank the Polam Hall Rotaract group and Hummersknott badminton students for raising £573 and £422 respectively by bag packing for Comic Relief.
