AN inquest into the death of a young woman who died in car accident at the weekend was opened and adjourned this morning (Wednesday, March 13).
Darlington mother-of-one Christine Harrison was killed when the car she was travelling in left a busy road and collided with trees on Saturday, March 9.
It is believed the 28-year-old was travelling in the rear seat of a VW Golf vehicle when the accident occurred at around 6am on the A66 Bridge Road in Darlington, between the Reg Vardy roundabout and The Northern Echo Arena.
Four people, also from Darlington, escaped the crash without serious injury, but Ms Harrison, of Longfield Road, was pronounced dead at the scene.
She leaves behind a seven-year-old daughter Shaney-Leigh, parents Francine and Vinna, siblings Zoe, Mark and Norman, grandmother Joyce, partner Mark Podmore and a large extended family.
The inquest was opened and adjourned at Crook Coroners Court in County Durham.
Darlington Police are investigating the crash. Anyone with information should contact the force on non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111.
