Darlington phone lines down following fault

PHONE lines in Darlington were down this morning (Tuesday, March 12) following a fault with equipment.

A number of businesses in the town were left without working phone lines from about 10am to 11am after a piece of equipment in the telephone exchange became faulty.

A spokeswoman for BT said engineers quickly replaced the faulty part.

"Lines were down for around an hour and are all working again now," she said.

"We would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused."
