A SPECIALIST science lab for primary-age pupils has opened at a Teesside school.
Youngsters at Yarm Preparatory School can now take part in more interactive lessons in their fully-equipped laboratory.
The facility, mainly for children in years three and above, can also be used by younger children for simply chemistry lessons.
Mr Grundmann, head of science at the Prep School, said: “Not only is the lab making science more exciting and giving the children more of a passion for the subject, but it also has a very real practical application in that it will help us to teach the curriculum through practical investigation.
"Good laboratory skills and practice can be instilled in the youngsters so that they are ready for the rigours of Senior School.”
He added: “Science lessons should be fun and start the process of enquiry. In addition, the sciences today play a crucial part in any curriculum as many careers such as engineering require a solid foundation of qualifications in this important subject area."
