THE Mayor of Sedgefield attended a special coffee morning at a care home to celebrate the appointment of a new manager.

The event, at Willowdene Care Home, saw Councillor John Robinson and his wife, Maxine, take a tour of the facilities and greet the home’s new manager Allison Kelly.

Deputy manager Jenna Sharples and activities co-ordinator Angela Penman also attended the coffee morning, along with residents and their friends and family.

Coun Robinson said: “We had a wonderful day – absolutely gorgeous. The atmosphere was lovely and you could tell staff and residents were happy to be there.

"We took our grandchildren along too and we were all made to feel very welcome.”
